Voting Heats Up To Find NZ’s Favourite Plant
Votes have now been cast for 100 native plant species in the quest to find New Zealand’s favourite plant for 2011 - an annual vote run by the NZ Plant Conservation Network.
Previous winners have been left stranded including pohutukawa, pingao and Cook’s scurvy grass.
The top 3 plants are currently 1) bamboo rush, 2) kauri and 3) the NZ calceolaria with their positions changing regularly as votes are cast.
Voting can be done via the home page of the Network website and ends on Saturday 17 December.
