The Network makes two types of award:
Network Plant Conservation Awards
The purpose of the Network Plant Conservation Awards is to acknowledge outstanding contributions to native plant conservation in New Zealand. Award categories are: Individual; School; Council; Community; Plant Nursery; Young Plant Conservationist. In the past these awards have been annual events, but since moving to online Annual General Meetings in 2020 the NZPCN committee determined that the awards should coincide with our biennial conference.
David Given Threatened Plant Research Scholarship
The David Given Threatened Plant Research Scholarship was established “to fund research into the conservation, protection and recovery of New Zealand’s threatened plant species and communities”. Scholarships are granted by the Network every few years for research that assists the protection and recovery of New Zealand’s threatened plant species and communities.
