Record your observations

Please register as a recorder (Network members are already registered) and log your field observations for any vascular plant described on this website. It is especially important to record threatened plant observations, species that appear to be outside of their natural range and exotic plant populations that occur in or near nature reserves, scenic reserves or parks.

This information will increase understanding of plant distribution and abundance in New Zealand and will form the basis of future plant conservation strategies. It will also help those involved in ecological restoration work by providing information about potential seed sources. Weed occurrence data will be made available to landowners on whose land the plant is located and to a weed management agency where appropriate.

If you discover a suspected incursion of a new weed species please report it immediately to Biosecurity NZ on 0800 809 966.

All Network members are automatically registered as recorders so just log in using your username and password to start recording.
