Module 1: Introduction to plant life
This module provides an introduction to plant life in New Zealand including both native and exotic species. It includes chapters on plant names, where plants grow and why, plant communities, the life cycle and growth form of plants, the identification of plants using flowers, spores, seed and fruit, leaves, stem and bark and the collection of plant specimens for identification.
