  1. Pyrrosia elaeagnifolia

  2. This species is growing on my macademia nut trees and killing branches, reducing growth of the nuts and causing immature nuts to drop. I only just discovered that this was the cause of the dead branches in my trees. What could I do about it?

  3. Why don't you ask Leon Perrie at Te Papa. He's a leading fern expert. I'd be surprised if the Pyrrosia elaeagnifolia was the cause of death of branches; rather I'd wonder about some sort of borer such as the larvae of a longicorn beetle. If so the tunnels should be evident in the dead wood.
